Thank you for the Paws Up! However, this is not the complete interview. For the complete interview, people need to pick up a copy of CAT FANCY magazine, because only part of the interview is online. I appreciate your link to CatChannel.com, but please correct this to say "You can see part of the exclusive interview here and the rest of it in CAT FANCY magazine." Please note that this cover and the magazine contents are copyrighted. Thank you.

Thank you for visiting and posting.

I heartily applaud the efforts you and your husband have done for the feral kittens that find their way into your lives - you ARE doing something, you're taking the responsibility of having them spayed/neutered.

My post was aimed more towards people who don't accept that kind of responsibility, or do not attempt to try. For example, in our area, we've had a couple of individuals who bring kittens to us or to the pound as a way of "getting rid" of the kittens.. but refuse to have the mother cat spayed, even with our offer of help as part of the low cost spay/neuter program.

Again, thank you so much and I hope you'll come back to read more of my posts!

Believe me, I understand and agree with what you say about the good word that shelters are doing, the importance of spaying/neutering, etc. However, I did feel I needed to post something in defense of those of us who find themselves in the position of trying to place kittens into good homes.

My husband and I moved out to the country many years ago, and inherited a group of feral cats. The kittens were easy to tame, and he and I undertook the expense of spaying and neutering them all. The adults, on the other hand, were much more difficult, but we finally also got them to the point of being tame enough to spay/neuter. After 15+ years, the population aged and all but 1 have since died of old age.

Unfortunately, another feral cat just recently had kittens in our barn, and we find ourselves once again in the process of trying to tame kittens, etc., etc. In the meantime, we are looking for good homes - and until the mother is tame enough for me have her spayed, will continue to look for good homes - for free.
